Lashings of success for Sharon

Before Sharon joined Liverpool Waves of Hope she struggled with addiction, suffered with poor mental health and spent time in prison. Sharon said: “I was all over the place before Liverpool Waves of Hope.”

When joining the programme Sharon was linked to various recovery groups across the city which provided her with the opportunity to study. With the support of her Education, Training and Employment (ETE) worker Sharon enrolled on a Level 2 Health and Beauty course at Liverpool Community College and also received funding support from Waves New Beginnings to enable her to qualify to become a lash and nail technician.

As a result of this Sharon aims to have her own mobile hair and beauty business and has recently made contact with The Women’s Organisation and Transforming Lives who are working to support her to help her fulfil her goal.

Now Sharon feels keen to give something back so has signed up to Liverpool Waves of Hope’s Peer Mentoring training to help inspire others.

Sharon feels that she has really turned her life around and is excited about what the future holds.

Congratulations on your recent qualifications Sharon!
